Latest Updates and News Gator Swim Club would like to congratulate and wish good luck to the GSC swimmers competing in the World Championship Trials in July.
Miranda Uhl will be competing in Edmonton, Canada starting July 29th.
Jamie Bohunicky, Angelina Ballatore, Lily Ramirez, and Stacey Huber will be traveling to Indianapolis for their meet starting July 7th.
Good Luck to everyone, we are confident that your dedication and commitment will result in excellent meets.
Gator Swim Club Dominates Lake Weir Open Water Swim
Gator Swim Club took first and second in both the Men's and Women's open water swim meet on Lake Weir this past Saturday. Hillary Petersen, Sarah Soltis, and Danielle Kerr were the first, second, and third for the women, while Billy Silva and Drew Shimansky were first and second for the men. Tierney Shimansky took first place in the Girls 11-12 age division. She also out swam the best 11-12 boy.
The swim is a 3.27 mile swim straight across Lake Weir. Arriving at the lake, and seeing what you are about to do, and then getting in the boat to take you across the lake is quite a challenge to over come. So congratulations to all the Gators who competed in this swim. We are proud to recognize the 5 swimmers mentioned above and Max Bungert, Parker Basting, Savannah Scarborough, Grace Scarborough, Kahra Williams, Kyanna Gross, Jana DeMichele, Pam DeMichele, Christine Kerr, Danielle Kerr, Dena Rafati, Riley Flanagan, and Kathryn Clare-Salzler for overcoming their fears and meeting this challenge. Facing your fears and stepping outside your comfort zone is a great way to reach new heights in anything you may do, and will be a skill that you will use throughout your life.
